Hi, My name is Ann Niddrie and Over the Moon Photography is my passion.

Welcome to my blog where you can stay up to date with my recent shoots and adventures with awesome people in love.

You'll see sneak peeks of lovers tying the knot, family photo sessions as well as precious newborns all here on the blog.

Love and Laughter and Happily Ever After…

Clare and Rob married on a bright sunny day by Sydney Harbour, at the Sugaroom in Pyrmont. The location was a perfect mix of urban inner west, with a touch of sea breeze. I love that everything about the day, was sophisticated yet understated. Each detail considered but not overdone.

Wearing a custom made dress of french lace, Clare radiated confidence and a delight to simply be herself. It was wonderful to be present on a day where the love that Rob and Clare have for each other ‘filled the room’.

By having a relaxed lunch time ceremony, Rob & Clare could include the children in the ceremony, and following that the little ones said their goodbye’s and the adults could let their hair down by the waterside knowing the little ones were safe and having fun. With a relationship based on fun, laughter, respect and friendship, Rob and Clare bring a lightness and joyfulness to the world that  I can see will carry them through the challenges life brings, as bold, grounded individuals, they are even stronger together.

A family haven in the bush.

One thing I love about living and working in the Blue Mountains is that I keep getting to see new places, and meet new people. When planning a family photo session, we talk about things your family likes to do, and what is special to you about your family, or places you like to be together.

Jane and Amyas are slowly transforming a barren bush block into a bushland haven for their kids, and their chooks. Plant by plant, stone by stone. It seemed only natural  that our photo session would take place where their family felt comfortable, that allowed their energetic boys to run freely, and was their ‘happy place’ that they want to capture for the future.

Having a new member in the family, and a milestone birthday just passed, it was the perfect time to capture the family in this point in time. The boisterous play of the boys, and the gentle snuggly bub, loving, engaged parents. We had a ball.

As a photographer I get to catch a glimpse of many kinds of people, given a window into their lives. As much as I am giving of my gift so families can hold on to their memories with images, I too get a gift every time. From observing this family together I could see how free Jane and Amyas are to be totally present with their children, to be in their world. To jump off rock ledges and speed along on scooters joyfully, enjoying the moment. It inspired me as a mother to continue working on just being present with my two girls, before they are all grown up and I wish for these moments to return. For moments of play, laughter and cuddles. Thank you.

‘Thank you for all the Happiness’

One of the most variable factors on a wedding day is going to be the weather. We can always hope for golden rays of sunshine, however we never know what we are going to get. With relief, even when the sun doesn’t shine, the brides and grooms I meet, focus on the most important aspect of their day – getting married to their love.

Emily and Adam did just that. Their day was full of laughter, joy and friendship – between families, siblings and friends. We had a 20 minute window with threatening clouds where they were able to have their ceremony on the terrace at Echoes, before mountains mist rolled in, swirling around.

One thing I love about the people that choose me to capture their day, is their quiet confidence in who they are as individuals, and as a couple. And as much as they have great style, beautiful table settings and amazing locations, I find what is most important to each couple that comes my way, is their connection to their guests, and spending as much of their day as possible celebrating together.

Emily and Adam got ready together, and led their wedding guests to the ceremony on the terrace. After they committed themselves to each other for life, they celebrated with a lunch with their nearest and dearest. After the mist had settled in like a cosy blanket, they had a sneaky moment together to let the wonder of the day sink in. I am so grateful to have been a part of their day.

A Return to the Mountains.

A little over 2 years ago, I had the honour of spending a day with Liz & Aaron as they tied the knot on a stunningly beautiful Blue Mountains autumn day. With a fresh crispness in the air, and leaves of red, orange and gold, Aaron and Liz promised their lives to each other in Aaron’s parents’ backyard. The home in which he grew up in.

Recently Aaron & Liz returned to his childhood home to celebrate again with family – this time it was to welcome their new addition – Emily – into their lives. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be welcomed back. And I can’t wait to share your full gallery with you!
